Ebert slams Ben Stein’s Expelled

Ebert begins his column titled Win Ben Stein’s mind:

I’ve been accused of refusing to review Ben Stein’s documentary “Expelled,” a defense of Creationism, because of my belief in the theory of evolution. Here is my response.

What, exactly, are Ebert’s credentials pertaining to science?

My point is Ebert isn’t in any position to “slam” anything.

Have you ever thought of reading something before condemning it? The link to Ebert’s column is right there in my post.

Ebert is a Pulitzer Prize-winning movie critic, and he writes about film-making, including documentaries.

Commenting on an earlier post, you asked if I was going to ban you. The thought had not occurred to me. I usually ignore people who are just making useless noise. But maybe you were taunting me, hoping that you would be banned. Would that fulfill some scenario that’s running in your head?

I haven’t banned anyone before, but if you think you can precipitate that by leaving enough of your droppings in enough places, we could both find out that you are right. But what’s the point? Why go to the trouble? I don’t know what you get out of this kind of behavior, and I don’t really care to know.

Go ahead and ban him. It’ll make him happy. I’ve banned several at my place. Martyrs for their cause.
