The controversy among scientists over Pluto’s planetary status is something that elementary school students were passionately interested in.

Votes were taken on the question.

In the context of the political/ideological conflict over teaching evolutionary Biology vs. some other subject, it’s worth noting how the question scientists were voting on here is different from the questions that are controversial in evolutionary biology (and which are not settled by an taking of votes).
